Tigergarh, Dining Hall
One of the first Redesign project for us, our attempt made this a special project for us
The structure is a circular building located near the natural habitat of Royal Bengal Tigers in Bandhvgarh, Madhya Pradesh. It was constructed as part of a redesigning and repurposing project for AAGAUR, a resort. The primary goal of the project was to create a creative section within the resort, rather than a traditional dining hall.
The structure stands out due to its use of arches in its design. Arches are incorporated in the windows, doors, and interiors, creating a unified and visually appealing look. The ceiling of the building is designed in the shape of a dome, adding to its unique charm. Bamboo mats are used on the intrados of the ceiling, giving it a natural and rustic feel, while Mangalore tiles (kaprail) are used on the exterior.
One of the distinctive features of the structure is the use of glass bottles as a partition wall near the washroom and above the windows. This creative and eco-friendly element adds visual interest and uniqueness to the space. The entrance of the building includes a small bridge with corbelling, which supports the arch. This architectural challenge has become the centerpiece of the structure, capturing attention and enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal.
The total area of the circular building is 934.8 square feet, providing a compact yet comfortable space for guests to enjoy. The project was completed in October 2021, offering visitors a unique and immersive dining experience surrounded by the beauty of the Royal Bengal Tiger habitat.
